Cellular Shades
Dress Up Your Home With Window Blinds

Are you looking for quality cellular shades, pleated shades or a solar shade?

Cellular shades are designed to keep you cool in summer and warm in winter. They have cellular honeycombs or pockets that provide insulation from the summer sun or the winter wind. A cellular shade gives you single, double or triple cells, a range of cell sizes, light filtering or sun blocking materials, woven or non-woven fronts, increased insulation and reduced glare.

Better insulation equals lower heating bills

Cellular shades are available in light-filtering or room-darkening varieties. The light filtering shades gently filter the light while still giving you complete privacy. The room-darkening version not only blocks light, but it also gives you extra insulation.

Cellular shades are available in single, double or triple-celled shades. All three types will provide you with the privacy you love, but double cells and triple cells generally provide more insulation and less glare than the single-cell.

The size of the cells have an impact on energy efficiency as well. The larger the cell, the more it will keep a room cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Cell sizes range from 3/8 & 3/4 inches to 2 inches. Insulating properties aside, the smaller cells look better in a small window and the larger cells are better in a large window.

Convenience on several fronts

A cellular shade is a pleated shade that pulls up and stacks out of the way for a clear view outside. You can purchase motorized shades that disappear into the top of the window frame.

Cellular and pleated shades can be controlled by continuous cord loops that can easily handle heavy shades. Bottom-Up/Top-Down controls allow you to lower the top of the shade or raise the bottom up.

For an additional cost, you can install the Duette Duolite. It gives you the Bottom-Up/Top-Down option along with a second sheer fabric. Two shades in one!

Materials

Most cell shades are made of polyester or non-woven front fabric with a neutral, non-woven backing fabric. This means they're fairly colorfast and flame retardant and can be wiped clean or vacuumed.

Although non-woven fabrics are "the norm", many customers are choosing knits and other woven fabrics for the front of the shade. This allows a deeper & richer color, as well as more texture and depth.

A solar shade stops heat, ultraviolet rays and glare from entering your room. Solar shades are available for blackout shades, skylight shades, display window shades & diffused light shades.
