Ireland based blinds experts New Horizons have supplied the UK contract market for many years. In a move to better support trade customers, the company has now set up a dedicated UK operation.

High-speed delivery is now assured for a range of shading products including Venetian blinds in Basswood and advanced technical roller and vertical blind fabrics from Australia and the USA.

The wood slatted product uses North American or Chinese coniferous Basswood from sustainable forests. Curing, rather than kiln drying, gives a moisture content of only six to eight per cent, sufficient to avoid brittleness while preventing warping. In addition to strength and stability, the louvres are lightweight to allow blinds of up to 96 inches in width and drop.

The light coloured, knot free, naturally smooth surface is UV sealed to prevent fading. Brackets are of stamped steel for strength and fully galvanised for corrosion resistance and extended life.

For roller blinds, New Horizons will be offering exclusive technical fabrics from world leaders Shaw of Australia and Pantaflex of the USA. These give users a choice of attractive, long life and easy to maintain blind fabrics. The Shaw products have a polyester base with an acrylic finish while Pantaflex has a fibreglass core laminated with PVC. Both ranges comply with BS5867 Part 21 for fire resistance.
