Washington’s largest home furnishings store expands to do it yourself roman blinds

“Families are moving toward spending more time in their home together” says Velvet Lettner, Director of Merchandising and Operations “we have designed this shopping experience around all the things families are doing together”.

“In creating the concept for the Great Room, we chose to create a space that concentrates on America’s newest approach to casual living” says Lettner. “The expanded area offers the endurance and practicality of casual furniture combined with the same high quality and style you expect from Selden’s.”

The Every Day Dining area of the Great Room shows casual dining featuring a large selection of glass and wood topped tables for families that share meals together daily. The new addition also shows a wide variety of leather furniture. Leather is an ever-growing home furnishings category popular for practical durability, comfort and style.

Selden’s has also added an area dedicated to home office solutions. People are spending more time than ever working for themselves or an employer in their homes. Telecommuting helps people avoid traveling long distances to work, time that would take them away from their families.

“With the new age of audio, gaming and video home entertainment, we are also spending more time playing and relaxing together in our home”, says Lettner. The new expansion features, a large home entertainment display. All the displays are arranged so that people can experience what these pieces would look like in their own home. The strong interior design staff, at Selden’s can assist any consumer with room planning to avoid mistakes and meet a particular need.

The new addition will be open to the public the first part of March 2003.

Family owned Selden's Home Furnishings was established in 1940, by Sydney Selden in downtown Tacoma as a flooring and window covering store. Selden's today is a home interiors destination providing furniture, flooring, window coverings and interior design to homes and businesses throughout the Western United States.
